“It’s my belief that history is a wheel. ‘Inconstancy is my very essence,’ says the wheel. ‘Rise up on my spokes if you like but don’t complain when you’re cast back down into the depths.’Good times pass away, but then so do the bad. Mutability is our tragedy, but it’s also our hope. The worst of times, like the best, are always passing away.” – Boethius, “Consolation of Philosophy”

The quote makes me think of you and the dreaded, “This too shall pass.”

Well, ya gotta admit, those things usually do pass. We may be left with a few scars, but really not more than we can handle – eventually.

The Ghost and the Darkness or 24 Hour Party People where a character quotes this passage? Both are pretty good flicks.

Oops, posted on the wrong thing. Meant the movie about the man-eating lions. Sorry. When you get old, things like this happen. I think it’s caused from the mind “passing away”.

Give 24 Hour Party People a try, especially if you like the “Madchester” music scene. Happened after 1978, so maybe not. Joy Division, Happy Mondays, hello? Is this thing on?

Never heard of movie nor “Madchester” music scene – at least, not that I remember. Keep in mind, by ’78, I was a well-respected school teacher and no longer a child of the 60′s.
