“I notice you speak slightingly of the bottle. I have drunk since I was fifteen and few things have given me more pleasure. When you work hard all day with your head and know you must work again the next day what else can change your ideas and make them run on a different plane like whisky?”
-Ernest Hemingway

Well there is rum, vodka, gin, beer, P.G.A., brandy, wine, and a variety of liquors that will provide the same mind resetting results. However under all circumstances avoid tequila and Jaeger. With those beverages, the brain works really hard as soon as it is consumed (I mean I have heard that you know EVEYTHING just after consumption) and then the brain refuses to work for at least the next 24 to 48 hours. No work to be completed during that time due to the recovery time required for your brain and digestive system.

I have thought about hiring someone to follow me around and catch all those flashes of brilliance that spring from my lips when I am in the spirit. I figure it all out, and then I can’t remember any of it the next day. There’s nothing for it but to try again.
