What happened to the diary of the hunt in Kansas? Seeing it is just over a week before we depart how about a few tales akin to the following to whet our appetite?

Well, remember that cell phone setting of 5 a.m. Daylight savings time? Well it went off at 4 a.m. perfectly and then again 20 minutes later since Kirk just accidentally pressed the snooze. So by 5 a.m. a strong pot of Costa Rica Tarrazu is almost ready and due to the age of the coffee pot, the pot can’t be removed until the cycle is completed. I guess the coffee post to be early on in the Rocket/Shuttle program since I seem to remember coffee pot technology making advances as a result of tests in space. We decide to duck hunt at yesterday’s duck hole find just East of the eagle’s nest and to not inform Rudy or the group of it. We first walk to Kirk’s choice, which doesn’t seem ducky in the early a.m. Cork & I persuade Kirk to visit our little duck hole find closer to the eagle’s nest. Ducks are in and out mostly flying over the open water over sky busters who we think to be Andy’s brothers. We shoot a few ducks down and I try to get Purdey to retrieve them but the log jams due to an abundance of water are just too thick on, in and under the water for her to swim. So being the only one with waders, I don then and wade out to get a duck. We shoot some mallards that fell into the tumble weed and Purdey makes a fine find as does she when Kirk shoots 2 Greenwing teal in 1 shot just in front of me going East. I think Ian and some others attempt duck hunting but see a dozen roosters fly across the water and they pursue them.
